How to de-register and factory reset an Amazon Echo Air Quality Monitor

In this video, we’ll show you how to unregister and factory reset your Amazon Echo Air Quality Monitor. You might want to do this if you’re planning to sell, give it away, or just get rid of it.

Notes: In order to correctly deregister an Amazon Echo, the device needs to be connected to the internet. It is also worth noting that by Factory Resetting your Echo, you will be removing any settings, applications and data that may have been stored on the device.

  • To de-register and factory reset from within the Alexa app, first load the app.
  • Now from the home page select DevicesAll Devices
  • Locate and select your air quality monitor
  • Tap the cog icon, in the top right hand
  • Choose the Bin icon to remove the Air Quality Monitor from your Amazon account
  • When prompted to confirm that you wish to remove your device from the Alexa app, select Delete

Notes: Just a heads up, if you’re thinking of resetting your Amazon Echo Air Quality monitor, it’ll take about 15 seconds. But here’s the thing, don’t go removing the power cord while it’s resetting. The Echo will blink blue when it’s all done, so keep an eye on it. That’s when you know it’s ready to be set up!

  • Wait until the status light blinks blue
  • The alternative method for de-registering and factory resetting an Echo Air Quality Monitor, is from the device itself
  • Locate the button on the back of the unit
  • Press and holding down the button for 12 seconds or until the status light starts to blinks purple
