How to pair your Google Pixel buds to a Chromebook

You’ve likely already paired your Google Pixel buds with your smartphone. But did you know you can also pair them with a computer running Chrome OS? In this video, we’ll show you how to do just that.

Notes: Here’s a quick tip: to pair your Google Pixel buds with a Chromebook, just put them in pair mode. And guess what? Your Pixel buds can pair with multiple devices at once, so you won’t lose any of your existing connections.

  • First place your Google Pixel buds into Pair mode
  • This is done by pressing and holding down the Pair button on the charging case, until the indicator light on the charging case flashes white.
  • Now from macOS if you open System Settings and from the side bar choose Bluetooth
  • Under Nearby Devices you will find listed your Pixel buds

Note: Just a heads up, when you put your Pixel buds in your ears, the audio should automatically transfer to them. But if you’ve paired your Pixel buds to multiple devices that are close together, your computer might not automatically play the audio to your buds. In that case, you can manually instruct your computer to play the audio to your buds. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Connect will manually connect your Pixel buds to your Chromebook
  • Open Settings, then from the sidebar choose Bluetooth
  • In the main panel, under the heading Bluetooth click on Bluetooth
  • Now select your Pixel buds under the heading Previously connected
  • You will find two options, Forget and Connect
  • Forget will un-pair your Pixel buds from your Chromebook
