- Locate the reset switch on the rear of your router.
- Using some sort of reset tool, ie a paper clip. Gently press and hold the reset switch for 5 seconds.
- Connect to Synology Router Manager via a web browser.
Note: Your router won’t show any signs of being in soft reset mode. So, it’ll stay connected to the internet and all your wireless access points will keep working. However, if you’re having trouble connecting to your router, try plugging your computer directly into it using a network cable. The port you’ll need is port 2, as that’s usually the maintenance port.
To access Synology Router Manager, you’ll need to use a web browser and the IP address that’s been assigned to your router. If you’re not sure what your router’s IP address is, don’t worry! You can always try using the default IP address (192.168.1.1) that was used when setting up all Synology routers.
- Refresh your browser to see the Synology Router Manager sign in page.
- You should presented with a Reset Password page.
- Fill out the form to create a new administrators account or reset the password to an existing account.
- Select Submit.
