In this video we demonstrate how you close Linux Development Environment. As Linux Development Environment (LDE) is a virtual instance of Linux running in ChromeOS. When you start LDE it will continually run in the background, unless you restart your computer or manually shut LDE down. While this should not be a major issue for a well specified Chromebook. As LDE will use system resources having it running might adversely effect the performance of your computer. So in this video we demonstrate how you shutdown LDE.
Notes: If you are using a school or work Chromebook you might not be able to use Linux Development Environment. So please contact your system administrator or tech support before trying.
Quick reference notes:
- From the ChromeOS desktop locate the Terminal icon in the shelf.
 - Now place your mouse pointer over the Terminal icon and right click
 - From the quick menu that appears you will find the option Shut down Linux
 - Selecting this option will close Linux and any Linux applications you might be running
 
Note: After you close Linux Development Environment, it’s worth waiting a moment before shutting down your Chromebook. This is because there is no visual clue that Linux has closed you waiting allows your computer to process tasks.
