Display network shares on the desktop of macOS

In this video, we’ll show you how to show network shares on your macOS desktop. This is super helpful if you use a file server, because having icons on your desktop that link to your network shares makes them way easier to access.

  • First mount a network shares so you can see when the setting takes effect.
  • Now from the desktop of macOS select Finder – Settings
  • In Finder Settings tick the option Connected server.
  • The network share you perviously mounted will, now appear on your desktop.

Note: macOS lets you see your network shares on your desktop, which is super handy. But if you use them a lot, you might want macOS to automatically mount them when you log in.
