As Safe Mode on a PlayStation 5 will only load its most basic functions. We can use Safe Mode to troubleshoot and fix certain issues that a PS5 console might experience. So in this video we demonstrate how from within Safe Mode, you can perform a factory reset.
When you Reset your PS5 you will delete all games, game data and user profiles. So you would typically perform a factory reset if you intend to sell or give away your PlayStation 5. However it’s worth noting that while the option Reset (Reinstall System Software), will also delete all games, game data and user profiles. By reinstalling the System Software, you can sometimes fix a corrupted install of the PS5’s operating system.
