If you intend to sell, give away or decommission your Xbox, you will need to remove all user accounts, game saves and data from your console. So in this video, we take a look at how you reset a Microsoft Xbox Series X or S.
Note: When performing a factory reset on an Xbox , you will not be deleting either your Xbox or Game Pass account. So you will be able to use the same account to either sign back into your Xbox or access your Microsoft account.
- While on the dashboard of the Xbox, press the Xbox button on your controller.

- From the sidebar that appears select the heading Profile & System

- In Profile & System scroll down to Settings

- Next choose System and in the main panel select Console info

- Finally choose Reset Console

Note: When you perform a factory reset, your console will not revert to a previous firmware version. Instead the Xbox will remain on the version of the System Software that it is currently using.
