Note: You will need to use either an Apple Lightning or USB type C cable to connect your iPhone to your computer.
- Connect one end of the Apple Lightning cable to your iPhone, and the other to your computer
- From within macOS open Spotlight Search
- Within Spotlight Search type: Image Capture and press Enter on your Keyboard
- Next, Unlock your iPhone
Note: If you are using a computer that is not also signed into your iCloud account. On your phone you will be prompted to; “Allow this device to access photos and videos?“. To which you need to select Allow.
- Return to macOS
- You will find that in Image Capture, your iPhone is no longer locked and you will see a list of the photos and videos stored on your phone.
- You can now either copy and paste photos and videos to your computer, or delete them from your camera roll
