How to restore an accidentally closed browser tab in macOS

If you accidentally closed a browser tab, don’t worry! There’s a quick way to get it back in macOS. In this video, we’ll show you how to do it using a keyboard shortcut.

Just a heads up, you can also bring back a close web tab by checking out your browser’s History. But we find it way easier to remember the shortcut keys so we can quickly bring back an accidentally closed page.

Notes: We have tested this keyboard short and can confirm that it will help you restore an accidentally closed browser tab if you are working with Safari, Google Chrome, and Firefox. So we suspect that it will also work with the Brave and Opera browsers.

  • If you accidentally close a browser tab
  • Press and hold down Command and Shift
  • Now press T on the keyboard
  • The previously closed webpage will reload in a new tab
