Chromebook Troubleshooting – An introduction to the TOP command

In this video we look at a Google Shell command called “TOP”. This command will allow you to monitor any process and system resources being used by the computer. It is a very useful tool for any system administrators or IT technicians, as you can:

  • see the number of users running commands on a Chromebook
  • you can browse and analyse any processes or commands that are running
  • you will see information not accessible in any other place on your Chromebook

As Chome OS is based on Linux, the TOP command will work on any Unix or Linux distribution including macOS.
