- Open Settings on your phone.
 
- Now locate and select General.
 
- From within General scroll through the options and choose Transfer or Reset iPad.
 
Notes: While we used an iPad mini in this video, the user interface is generic to all other models of handsets. So as the user interface as the same on the Apple iPad, the iPad Air and the iPad Pro, the same instructions will apply. 
- Three options are presented, select Erase all Content and Settings.
 
- You will now be informed as to what will be erased from the phone.
 
Note: If you decide that you do not wish to wipe your handset, simply return to the Home Screen by either pressing the Home button or swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Now either double click on the Home button or starting at the bottom of the screen swipe halfway up the screen to display your open applications. Locate the Settings card and swipe it closed.
- Select Continue.
 
- When prompted to enter the Passcode for your iPad.
 
- The iPad will now back itself up via iCloud.
 
- You will not be prompted for your Apple ID password. This is so the iPad can de-register itself from your iCloud account.
 
- When prompted select Erase iPad to wipe and reset your phone.
