So with QuickConnect now configured. We are going to take a look at the various ways you remotely access Synology Photos, along with showing you how you reconfigure the Synology mobile photos app. To make it work when you are away from your home network.

  • Sign into Disk Station Manager using your administrators credentials.
  • Open Control Panel and select External Access.
  • Under the QuickConnect heading check that QuickConnect is enabled.
  • Make a note of your QuickConnect ID.
  • Select Advanced Settings.
  • Make sure that QuickConnect relay service and Mobile Applications are both ticked.

Note: QuickConnect relay service, is a backup system should the primary method for remotely accessing your NAS fail.

Under Applications and Services, we recommend that while configuring Synology Photos. You leave all service and Applications enabled. However, once you have your NAS working the way you want it. You should review and disable any applications or services that you are not using.
