Synology BeeStation | setup and configure

What are the differences between a BeeStation and Network Attached Storage?

The BeeStation and a NAS are both great for storing data, but they’re different. The BeeStation is perfect for keeping your personal stuff safe, while a NAS can handle more people and even act as a media server because it’s got more power.

Note: While the Synology setup guide recommends loading the BeeStation portal, and then setting up your BeeStation. As your BeeStation will take a while to initialise. We recommend connecting your BeeStation to a network port on your router. Plugging it into a power supply and then switching it on. That way you don’t have to wait so long before you can start to setup your BeeStation.
